Sounding the Alarm on Virginia
Virginia's voters have already started casting early ballots in the gubernatorial and state legislative races, which end with in-person voting on November 2. Not only is the Virginia election a curtain-raiser for the midterm elections of 2022, it’s also the biggest test so far of whether the Trumpified GOP can win major races.
Virginia voters rejected Donald Trump twice and we need to make sure they will reject Trump’s pick for governor. People For will be working hard alongside in-state partners to get out the vote for McAuliffe this fall, and we hope you’ll join us in this fight.

Thank You for Stopping the California Recall!
When we first reached out to our members about the California recall last month, polling was nearly dead even and revealed a dangerous enthusiasm gap among progressive voters. Thanks to our members’ efforts, the landscape totally changed in the final days before the election.
Gov. Newsom soundly defeated the recall question, and California continues to be reliably blue. Read on for more about People For and our members’ efforts to defeat the Far Right’s attempt to take over the country’s most progressive state!

Honoring Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Next week, the Supreme Court will begin its 2021-2022 term with the kind of cases Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had long warned would reach the Court: ones in which our fundamental rights are at risk. From reproductive rights -- in a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade coming out of Mississippi -- to gun violence prevention., the next Supreme Court term has the potential to reshape our daily lives as well as our country for decades to come.

Protecting Abortion Care in the Wake of Texas Ban
Texas’s now-infamous S.B. 8, a near-total ban on abortion care that also enables “bounty-hunters” from across the country to sue health care providers, is the opening bell in the Far Right’s re-energized campaign against reproductive freedom.
