💰Spending Whopper: President Joe Biden made the outlandish statement when discussing the $3.5 trillion budget bill that it is “going to cost nothing.” This couldn’t be any farther from the truth.

This spending blowout includes $2.1 trillion in tax hikes for entitlements ranging from more taxpayer financing of wasteful higher education to putting government in charge of pre-k and day care, sacrificing flexibility for one-size-fits-all federal paid leave, and overloading Medicare. It will also hike prices for all Americans through inflation and cause corporations to pass on costs to their workers.

** Instagram Hid Data of Its Harms To Young Women ([link removed] )
------------------------------------------------------------
It’s been roughly a week since The Wall Street Journal broke the story that Facebook knew that Instagram is harmful to girls but chose to do little about it. Internal studies showed that 32% of teen girls who felt bad about their bodies felt worse because of Instagram ([link removed]) . That’s the bombshell. Facebook knew their product was contributing to girls wanting to die and their decision was to roll-out an optional ‘like’ button rather than wave a red flag. Read more. ([link removed] )

** $3.5T Budget Will Hammer Minority-Women-Owned Businesses ([link removed] )
------------------------------------------------------------
President Biden and Democrats in Congress are desperately attempting to advance their $3.5 trillion budget bill that is funded, in part, by tax increases that will hammer small businesses. They also want to greenlight labor regulations that would eliminate income-generating activities for women and increase costs for employers ([link removed] ) . President Biden’s talk about equity rings hollow given that his proposed tax increases and labor regulations would hobble women and minority entrepreneurship and business growth. Share this story. President Biden and Democrats in Congress have been scheming behind closed doors on ways to expand government control of day care and preschools. They're already failing our kids in public schools, why would we double down on giving them MORE control of our children?

This year’s Met Gala theme was “In America,” the irony of which was not lost on most of the nation. Our elected officials are increasingly more concerned about acting like celebrities than addressing the problems hurting their constituents. Virtue signaling is easy; governing is hard.

** Lawmakers Squander Opportunity To Put Kids First ([link removed] )

------------------------------------------------------------
During a hearing titled, “Putting Kids First: Addressing COVID-19’s Impact on Children,” Republicans and Democrats had an opportunity to ask the president of American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) about the effects the pandemic has had on our youngest and most vulnerable populations, and whether the current approach we’re taking is right. But instead of putting politics aside and putting “kids first,” it was business per usual.
