I’m Ike McCorkle. Retired Reconnaissance Marine, Purple Heart recipient, and proud Father of four!

I spent my life serving my country in combat zones across the world. On January 6th, I was appalled to see fellow Americans and armed insurrectionists attack the Capital Building stating their intent to hang Mike Pence in a blatant act of rebellion against the United States of America. Only the swift action and bravery of Capitol Police Officers prevented the harm of Congressional Representatives.

To honor these Heroes, Ken Buck and 21 House Republicans voted against a bill awarding Capital Police Officers Congressional Gold Medals. While pretending to condemn the radicals publicly, he privately stoked the flames of disinformation that motivated the insurrection. We’ve witnessed firsthand the damage caused by extremism, radicalism, and divisive rhetoric embraced by representative Buck.

Leadership shouldn’t divide Americans, it should unite us around shared values and common interests.
