Every time I hear about another loved one killed by senseless gun violence, I think about my mom. She was murdered, and it pains me to know her death was preventable. It hurts knowing that the very laws I've fought for alongside Brady — from universal background checks to banning assault weapons — could save lives and save other Americans from this same pain, but the NRA's pocket politicians block them time after time.

Saving lives is why I'm here with Brady — and it's why, at this inflection point for gun-violence prevention, Brady's end-of-quarter goal is so important.

The NRA and its allies like Mitch McConnell are spending $2 MILLION to win a political battle. But we at Brady are working to win a moral one. They're fighting for power, for capital, and for CEO profits. You and I, though? We're united in fighting for people's lives. And with the public and gun safety majorities in Congress and the White House, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity. 

We CAN ban assault weapons and pass universal background checks and get children home from school alive every day. We CAN stop the NRA and prove that they're on the wrong side of history. But we MUST hit this fundraising goal in order to do it and we're falling $22,439 short with only two days to go.
