Dem AGs are still fighting for reproductive rights
Friend,
September was a scary, disheartening month for progress on reproductive rights in America:
It began with the Supreme Court failing to strike down an extreme, unconstitutional law in Texas that outlaws abortions after just six weeks of pregnancy. That ruling emboldened state legislatures around the country, and we’re going into October with similar bills making their way into law in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina.
Team, it’s a dangerous time for the future of safe abortion access, and we need to be fighting back strongly, however we can.
Democratic Attorneys General are advocating for us and our reproductive freedom. Coalitions of Dem AGs have backed legal challenges in Texas, Mississippi, and South Carolina; while Dem AGs Maura Healey and Aaron Ford are calling on leaders in Congress to pass legislation that fully protects reproductive rights nationwide.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
