This role will require you to undertake EAL assessments for pupils with EAL needs to identify the support they will need to engage in education, including providing this support directly to pupils working in various schools across the city. You will help influence city wide policy in supporting pupils with EAL needs and support the work of the fair access protocol and wider education department regarding EAL. There will be opportunities to build strong working relationships with schools and other professionals to create positive outcomes for pupils.
*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:*
Hold a recognised qualification for a level 3 teaching assistant.
Knowledge and experience of EAL pupil assessment, progress, evaluation and reporting of attainment, including knowledge of stages of EAL development.
Ability to plan, prepare and deliver an EAL lesson under direction of the teacher.
Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a wider team of education professionals.
Ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with EAL pupils and families, colleagues and outside agencies.
Commitment to inclusive education.
