I’m reaching out because at this moment, we have a timely and unique opportunity to advocate for and advance critical federal funding for affordable housing and rental assistance, for our California neighbors as well as the entire nation.

The United States Senate and House are working to advance the budget reconciliation package of President Biden’s Build Back Better plan. 

Right now, we have a small window of opportunity to call on Speaker Pelosi and Senators Feinstein and Padilla to prioritize affordable housing and rental assistance for our lowest income and highest need communities in the final package, by tomorrow, September 29 at 3:00PM PDT.

Adding your name matters, and is a powerful display of our collective voice as the affordable housing movement, building strength and meaningful representation.

We need to demand that Speaker Pelosi and other lawmakers do what is best for California and our most vulnerable communities, and our sign-on letter, which takes only one minute to sign, does just that. 

In particular, we need them to prioritize the most critical provisions of the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act (AHCIA) and the HUD budget expansion. These provisions are CRITICAL for COVID recovery, our nation’s health and stability, and are key to housing justice.
