John,
The media is starting to hear us.1
Donald Trump and Republicans’ slow drip-drip-drip of attacks on Social Security are just the beginning. If we aren’t successful in defeating Trump in 2020 and ditching Mitch McConnell as Senate Leader, our movement to expand Social Security could be set back a generation.
Since taking office, Trump has proposed a budget that contains $2.5 trillion in cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. He’s put up barriers to accessing our earned benefits, including closing Social Security field offices. He continually pits current and future retirees against people with disabilities in an attempt to divide the American people.
He’s even covertly brought back the idea of the benefit-cutting Chained CPI.
Trump knows that telling the truth about his intentions to destroy our earned benefits will weaken his re-election chances. It’s up to us to fight back against their campaign to undermine Social Security by educating the American people and growing our movement to protect and expand our earned benefits for millions of Americans!
The first step is passing the Social Security 2100 Act out of the House THIS YEAR. And with 211 co-sponsors, we’re close!
Let’s put Trump and McConnell ON NOTICE! Donate today to pass Social Security expansion in the House and force Trump and McConnell to either join us or divulge their evil plan to destroy Social Security.
Whether it’s the Chained CPI, raising the retirement age, privatization, office closures, or making it more difficult to access our earned benefits, conservatives have been after our earned benefits since FDR signed Social Security into law in 1935. They’ve run a constant misinformation campaign that we have successfully beat back.
But if Trump is re-elected in 2020, it will embolden him and McConnell in their mission to cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
Donate to Social Security Works today to pass Social Security expansion this year and put Trump and McConnell on record.
Thank you for all that you do to protect and expand Social Security for current and future generations.
