John,
When the Biden-Harris administration withdrew troops from Afghanistan and ended a two-decades long war, it was a step in the right direction to put an end to forever wars. But our advocacy didn’t end there.
Now, we need to make sure our actions, legislation, and policies reflect our moral stance to end forever wars and dismantle the military-industrial complex.
Our budgets should mirror our values and meet the most urgent needs of working families and Americans everywhere. That’s why, along with my colleagues’ Representatives Mark Pocan and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, I proposed an amendment cutting the Pentagon defense budget by more than $25 billion.
Enough is enough. Congress must rebalance our priorities and invest in the biggest challenges we face, including the imminent threats of COVID, climate change, domestic terrorism, and growing inequality.
I’ll always stand up for OUR values — not for inflated Pentagon budgets rife with waste, fraud and abuse within our defense establishment. But I need your help to keep me in the fight.
My campaign’s end-of-quarter deadline is just days away, and we still have ground to make up to hit our fundraising target. Will you chip in today to help us close the gap?

In 2001, I was the lone member of Congress to take a stand against giving the president a blank check to go to war. Now, thanks to grassroots supporters like you, our coalition is growing — and I can fight alongside like-minded advocates in the House.
Thank you for supporting our shared values and keeping me in the fight.
In solidarity,
Barbara Lee
