Democrats in Congress have two options this week, John:
They can do the job that the American people elected them to do and pass the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill and $1 trillion infrastructure bill. Or they can succumb to the hostage-taking tactics of corporate Democrats — backed by their big donors — and miss a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in a more equitable and just society.
We’re not just watching and waiting to see what happens this week. We’re on the ground, organizing actions, flooding phone lines, running digital ads, and making it clear to Democrats that there will be electoral costs if they turn their backs on working families.
This week isn’t just a monumental week in Congress — it’s also the end of our fundraising quarter, and we’re still running short of the $195,000 we need to raise by this Thursday, September 30th. At this pivotal moment, we can’t afford to fall behind in our online fundraising. Can you chip in $3, or whatever you can afford, towards our end-of-quarter goal?

Corporate Democrats oppose our full recovery agenda because it would make the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share. That is why we’ve taken to the airwaves, social media, and the streets to remind Democrats that they can either pass a full recovery agenda or be held accountable. Here’s how:
- In Arizona, we’re running digital ads reminding Kyrsten Sinema of what’s at stake for working families.
- In New Jersey, we held demonstrations outside of Rep. Josh Gottheimer’s office urging him to stand with his constituents, not corporations.
- In New York, we’re running cable ads targeting Kathleen Rice, who voted against lowering prescription drug costs.
- And on the U.S Capitol steps, we’re answering the call from grassroots activists and movement leaders — and we won’t leave until Congress passes our full recovery agenda.
We won’t stop holding our current elected officials accountable and electing more WFP champions who will fight for working people, not corporate lobbyists. But unlike other political organizations, we aren’t propped up by corporate money, which makes responses to emails like the one you’re reading right now so important.
Will you contribute $3 towards our $195,000 end-of-quarter goal and power our accountability work in the days, weeks, and inevitably months ahead?
