Even year elections, when voters elect the president and members of Congress, tend to get all the attention. But the truth is, local elections like this one have a more immediate and direct impact on most of our daily lives. That’s especially true when it comes to making progress on gun violence. Local elected leaders play a vital role in the implementation of and funding for gun safety laws. Many also oversee law enforcement or make decisions about school safety.
