John,
In October, places of worship across the country will join us in a multi-faith observance of Children’s Sabbaths®, engaging in prayers, education, and most importantly action to improve the lives of our country’s most marginalized children.
Following this year’s theme of “Where Does It Hurt?”: Listening to Heal Our Children, we invite you to join us in three key actions that can be initiated during Children’s Sabbaths weekend, October 15-17, 2021. These actions are intended to spur listening, learning, and acting for and with children and families that can be sustained year-round: Family Suppers: A Community Listening Project Foster a city-wide conversation with youth and their families about the issues that affect them and community-based solutions that work. Take action. Child Watch Visitation Program CDF Advocates’ Book Clubs (ABCs) Visit our Children’s Sabbaths resource page and enter your email address to download guides for all three actions. On the page, you will also find multi-faith worship resources, a seven-day guide for prayer and reflection, bulletin inserts, video assets to use in your efforts, and additional resources to help you plan your 2021 Children’s Sabbath celebration.
If you would like to join us in observance of Children’s Sabbaths but need additional support, please do not hesitate to email me at [email protected].
Thank you for your faithful commitment to children. Gratefully,
Glen Vinson Jr. P.S. We want to hear your Children’s Sabbaths action plans!
