This grassroots team needs to have Cori's back before our end-of-quarter deadline on Thursday.
Hey, John — it's Morgan.
Today, I want to take a moment to tell you about what makes Cori such a game-changing, effective leader: She does this work for her community.
In a minute I'll explain more, but first I have to respectfully ask: Our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline is Thursday at midnight, and we're running short of our $60,000 goal. Can I count on you to make a $5 contribution to directly power Cori's work in Congress?
As Team Cori's Political Director, I'm on the ground with Cori in St. Louis anytime she's not in Washington, D.C. — staffing rallies, community events, and meetings with local officials. And every single time I'm with Cori, it's clear that she's doing this work because of how much she cares about the people of Missouri's 1st district.
Cori has been serving this community for decades as a pastor, nurse, and activist. When Ferguson and all of St. Louis were hurting after the murder of Michael Brown in 2014, Cori took to the streets to serve as a triage nurse and to assist with grief and trauma work. And she continued to show up for the next 400 days to protest alongside her neighbors.
It is because of this community that Cori ran for office in what was considered a "long-shot" campaign to unseat a 20-year incumbent. It would have been easy for Cori to accept the status quo, but she knew our community deserved a representative who would fight for justice and demand change.
John, if you believe in Cori's mission to transform our politics, will you please donate $5, or anything that's meaningful to you, to our grassroots, people-powered movement for bold, progressive change?
Contribute $5
Since Cori's first day in office in January, she has never forgotten who she represents. Instead, she's organized, advocated, and legislated with the people of St. Louis and communities like it in mind.
It's why one of her first actions in Congress was to introduce the Green New Deal for Cities with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to bring climate justice to the communities who need it most. And it's why she has not given up the fight to protect renters from eviction. From staying on the steps of the Capitol for five days to introducing the Keeping Renters Safe Act — Cori is working to keep her constituents housed.
John, Cori only works for the people of Missouri's 1st district, which is why she doesn't accept a cent of corporate PAC money. But that means this grassroots team needs to have her back — especially before important moments like Thursday's end-of-quarter fundraising deadline.
Please, will you chip in $5 or more to keep Cori in Congress and power her work to pass progressive legislation and transform our communities?
Thank you for your support ahead of our deadline,
Morgan
Political Director for Team Cori
