John,
Happy National Voter Registration Day!
National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday celebrating our democracy. 1 in 4 eligible Americans is not registered to vote. This holiday aims to create broad, widespread awareness of voter registration opportunities to reach tens of thousands of potential voters who may not otherwise register.
Unfortunately, this year in Kansas, Republicans passed an expansive set of unnecessary, strict voting laws making it harder to vote and nearly impossible for voting rights organizations to do their jobs. The bills even go as far as to criminalize individuals if they are subjectively perceived as election officials and effectively disenfranchise an estimated 30,000 Kansans. The Kansas Democratic Party stands in solidarity with those looking to promote civic engagement and expand our democracy.
The Kansas Democratic Party is not an election official. If you wish to register to vote, please visit ksvotes.org.
