John,
Our democracy is in crisis.
Corporations have already resumed donating to the members of Congress who rejected the election results, signaling utter disdain for democracy. Some people have moved on—CREW hasn’t.
The Senate has so far failed to pass the bold voting, ethics and democracy legislation we need, refusing to kill the filibuster in order to preserve a strong democracy. Some people say that will never change—CREW refuses to believe that.
The abuses of the Trump era have not yet been thoroughly examined—and those who perpetrated those abuses have not been held accountable. Some people say we have to move forward—CREW will never stop fighting for accountability.
From investigations and legal actions to get records about the insurrection, Louis DeJoy’s conflicts of interest and Mike Pompeo’s abuse of resources, to policy work on ethics and democracy legislation, to our campaign to get Toyota and GM to back down from funding insurrectionists (one down, one to go)—CREW is always uncovering answers, fighting corruption and exposing abuses of power.
But we can’t do it alone. Because CREW counts on ongoing, monthly support in order to keep up this work, I’m asking you to consider becoming a monthly donor. Hundreds of CREW supporters already support us each month, providing a crucial base of revenue that allows us to plan ahead, strategize, and commit to fighting for our democracy, no matter how long it takes.
Will you join those supporters and become a monthly donor now?
And as an extra thank you to our sustaining supporters, new and existing recurring donors are invited to join me and CREW Policy Director Jennifer Ahearn on Wednesday, October 13th at 3 pm ET to discuss the path forward for democracy reform in Congress, our ongoing January 6th investigations, and more. After becoming a monthly donor, you’ll receive an invite with more details and an opportunity to submit your questions.
I hope you’ll consider becoming a monthly donor today—we truly couldn’t do it without supporters like you.
Thank you,
Noah Bookbinder
President, CREW
P.S. Are you a federal employee or retiree? Then I hope you’ll consider supporting CREW via the Combined Federal Campaign—our number is #42218. The CFC is a crucial source of support for CREW—thank you for considering a pledge!
