John, this is un-American at its core, and it's time we did something about it!

Frankly, John, I am disturbed by what's going on in Washington. Radical House Democrats are conducting an illegitimate impeachment inquiry – refusing to vote and holding secret hearings behind closed doors! President Trump has not been allowed to call witnesses and confront the people accusing him of "wrongdoings." They are robbing President Trump of the same legal due process Congress has given to past presidents. John, this is un-American at its core, and it's time we did something about it! If Republicans had done this to a Democratic president, they'd demand to move this inquiry from behind closed doors and give the president due process. That's why tomorrow I will introduce a resolution in the Senate to do just that!
