“Senate Republicans block debt limit measure, stopgap funding as government shutdown looms”
— ABC News 9/27/21

We are now on the precipice of a government shutdown with less than three days to go. And make no mistake: this is about pure political gamesmanship — plain and simple.

Mitch McConnell believes the best path to winning back GOP Senate control is to do everything in his power to make the Biden Presidency fail. This is a shameless strategy that requires a total lack of concern for the impact on the American people or our country.

The truth is — that’s Mitch McConnell’s brand. And he’s proud of it!

Who can forget how he denied Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland, a Senate confirmation vote in 2016 because it was “in the middle of a presidential election year” — and then completely reversed himself to jam through Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination just weeks before the 2020 election.

That’s the level of shameless hypocrisy we are facing. And that’s why — as the midterm elections campaign season gets in full swing — this week’s FEC end-of-quarter deadline is so important.

We can’t afford to fall behind with so much on the line. That’s why I’m asking if you can rush a contribution of $7, or whatever you can, to power our work to hold this Democratic Senate seat and protect our majority in the Senate in 2022.

It’s going to take all of us to keep our country moving forward and secure and strengthen our democracy in the weeks and months ahead.

As always, I am proud to work together with you in this important mission.
