Here are three things you need to know about our race:

- The elections analysts at Inside Elections have downgraded TJ's district from a "likely" Democratic seat to one that merely "tilts" Democratic -- a strong shift in the Republicans' direction.

- Last week, we got word that TJ's opponent David Valadao outraised us by collecting nearly $60,000 from corporate PACs.

- Now, Politico is reporting that "Republican prospects now look brighter" in CA-21. Not good.

Republicans are desperate to notch a win in California, and they think TJ's district might be their best opportunity to do just that. So we're doing everything in our power to prepare right now.
