Friend --

Dean’s always said our team needs to be radically honest with our top supporters. So here’s the truth: This summer saw some of our slowest fundraising of the cycle.

I get it. Especially in Minnesota, we flocked to the lakes and finally took off for the vacations we couldn’t take last year. But that meant fewer people opened our emails and chipped in.

Now, with the official FEC end-of-quarter deadline just a few days away, we have a lot of catching up to do if we’re going to beat back the dark money flowing into the NRCC and other groups set on unseating Dean.

If everyone reading this email chipped in just $5, we'd reach our big $15,000 goal with time to spare before Thursday. Will you contribute $5 or another amount right now to help us catch up? [link removed]

Right now, other members of Congress are getting on the phone with big donors to meet their fundraising goals for the quarter. But that’s not Dean’s style. He doesn’t take a dime from big corporate PACs, lobbyists, or even his fellow members of Congress -- and no one else in the House can say that.

After this slow summer, we’re counting on grassroots supporters like you to help us catch up. If you’ve already contributed toward our end-of-quarter goal, thank you so much. If you haven’t (but maybe you’ve been thinking about it), now is a great time to chip in!
