John,
I'm reaching out to ask you to
make a contribution to my campaign before my public FEC filing deadline. I hope you'll give me a moment to explain why this request is so crucial.
Between the hard-fought recall election, budget negotiations, and the debate around reconciliation, September has been a busy month.
But that hasn't stopped the Republicans from continuing to challenge the 2020 election results behind the scenes. Last week, a GOP-ordered election audit in Arizona failed to uncover any vote changes for Trump. Now, Trump and his allies are planning a new audit in Texas where a friendly, GOP legislature is happy to comply.
John, no matter how Kevin McCarthy and the Republicans try to spin it, it's now GOP policy to embrace conspiracy theories and work to overturn elections they don't agree with. It's a dangerous precedent, and it's one voters must reject at every opportunity -- including right here in CA-49.
Legislative business hasn't left much time for fundraising, but the GOP clearly hasn't let up and has already listed CA-49 as one of their top targets. We can't come up short ahead of this week's end-of-quarter deadline:
Can I count on you to contribute $3 to help us pick up the pace so we can hit our FEC fundraising goal? We're falling short of our $35,000 target, so please know that I wouldn't reach out directly like this if it weren't important.

In the face of all these new challenges, I'm still as confident as ever in this grassroots team and our shared commitment to our values.
Republicans here know what they are up against -- a locally-grown, grassroots campaign powered by thousands of individual donors without a cent from corporate PACs. That's difficult to overcome, but we can't get complacent. We must continue building.
Thanks for your support before this week's FEC deadline.
Mike
