Team – we’re in the midst of the largest scale attack on voting rights our country has seen in DECADES.

In 2020, we proved just how essential investments in voter protection and expansion were. Across the country, Democrats expanded voting hours, made it easier to vote-by-mail, and worked to make it as safe as possible for Americans to cast their ballots.

And that hard work paid off. The 2020 election set a record for voter turnout.

In response, opponents of voting rights attacked. This year alone, extremist state legislatures and governors have advocated for more than 404 voter suppression bills in 49 states. And in Texas, Georgia, Florida, and others governors have already passed severe voter restrictions into law. The only ones standing in their way? Democratic governors.

That’s why I’m reaching out today. Because Democratic governors are our last line of defense on the most important issues of our lives – from protecting the right to vote, to ensuring that reproductive freedoms aren’t erased, Democratic governors are our firewall. Team – I’m proud of the work I’ve done as governor from creating new, good-paying jobs, to fixing our damn roads, to working with local business leaders to protect voting rights, but my opponents continue to attack those rights and my leadership.

Disgraced Education Secretary Betsy Devos has already stated that she’s “fully committed” to unseating me next fall and ready to spend millions to do so. To stop attacks like these, we’ve got to invest in building a ground-up effort to keep Democratic governors in office and flip more states from red to blue.

So, today, I’m asking for your help in electing Democratic governors who will fight back – to protect voting rights, to protect reproductive rights, to grow our economy and protect our climate for the next generation – because the future of our nation depends on it. The stakes have never been higher, and it’s going to take all of us working together to win.
