Eliot Engel is scared. Earlier this week, he emailed his supporters about the “powerful special interests” targeting him. Apparently, a base of support in the community and a national progressive movement is a powerful special interest.
The Daily News reported that the email showed that Engel is “pleading for help from donors,” and “feeling the heat from a progressive primary challenge.”

Engel says we’re “trying to divide the Democratic Party,” when in reality, we’re trying to unite our community and send a progressive, engaged representative to Congress.
|
While Engel actually takes money from special interests, Jamaal has the grassroots behind him. Last filing period, Engel only received a little over $5,000 in small-dollar donations. Jamaal raised 10 times that much from small-dollar donors.
|
The establishment is scared. With endorsements from Justice Democrats, Brand New Congress, and many state and local leaders, Jamaal is poised for an upset. Help us fund a field and voter outreach operation, the likes of which this district hasn’t seen in 30 years.

Thank you for all your support. I can't wait for what's in store.
In solidarity,
