Hi John,
Since 2013, I have had the privilege of serving the 33rd Congressional District of Texas in the United States House of Representatives.
The best moments over these past years didn't happen in Washington, but when I worked a day in your business or simply knocked on your door at home, and we had a conversation about what matters most to you. Fighting for your families has been my biggest motivation every step of the way.
Today, the Texas State Legislature released the first draft of a congressional map proposal for TX-33, and I am confident of my own re-election under these boundaries. If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: However, I remain vigilant and committed to supporting a map that fairly respects the racial make-up of our state and protects the voting rights of all our citizens.
The census data released earlier this year shows that minorities fueled our state's population growth, and the state’s initial proposal fails to acknowledge this important factor. Voting rights should never be subject to the whims or political priorities of any political party.
We must remain committed to adopting the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the For the People Act. State leaders must create maps that respect and protect the voting strength and voting rights of ALL Texas citizens.
Committed to you,
Marc Veasey
Growing up in Fort Worth’s historic Como neighborhood, Marc Veasey didn’t dream about being an elected official. He just hoped that he would one day be able to make a difference in the lives of his friends and neighbors. That simple goal has taken him all the way to the halls of Congress, where he is proud to represent not only the friends and neighbors he grew up with but hundreds of thousands of diverse voices across North Texas. |
