This campaign means so much to me — we’re building a strong progressive movement of grassroots supporters and community members to unseat Henry Cuellar and put working families first.
Growing up in Laredo, Texas, I didn’t see myself being properly represented by those elected to act in the best interest of all Americans. Many of the laws Henry Cuellar supported were not created to protect people who looked like me or my family. That’s why I decided to run for office — because I believe it’s time we have a real progressive who will fight hard for the dreams of our community in Congress.
You see, John, I am leading a people-first and people-powered campaign with integrity. In Congress, I will fight to be the representative you can count on. Which is why I am not taking any money from corporate PACs or special interest groups, unlike Henry Cuellar. Instead, I am working to grow and expand grassroot support across the state of Texas and across the country.
And today, I want to ask for your support to invest in pushing forward our progressive values. We are days away from our first FEC end-of-quarter fundraising deadline since launching our campaign this cycle. My team says we need to raise $13,232 more to hit our ambitious goal of $17,000 by Thursday at midnight.
