The Central Valley is one of the most underserved communities in California. For some kids, getting into college can feel like a David and Goliath battle -- especially when politicians who should have their back are actively working against them.
One of the major reasons I wanted to run against Kevin McCarthy is because he's not looking out for the kids I teach. He said Biden's spending bills would pass "over his dead body." The budget would make historic investments in the Pell Grant, and make community college tuition-free through America's College Promise -- something the kids I teach who are looking for a shot at a better life sorely need.
I dare him to look one of my kiddos in the face and say that.
We need to make sure more voters know I'm the viable Democrat running against McCarthy. These end-of-quarter deadlines may feel arbitrary, but it's a chance to show the political pundits and press that we truly mean business.
We are coming up $52,131 short of our $75,000 end-of-month goal. If everyone reading this email chipped in just right now, we'd meet our goal TODAY. I know we can do this, but only if we all step up and do it together:
