This is an email about who I am and what’s at stake in the next election.

I’d like to tell you about why I’m in Congress.

• As a child, my family escaped communism and immigrated to the United States. My parents worked during the day and cleaned offices at night so my brother and I could have a fair shot at the American Dream.


• I had no intention of running for Congress … until the horrific Pulse nightclub shooting. After my own congressman took a NRA donation just days after the tragedy, I knew I had to do something. So I ran against him later that same year and flipped his seat from red to blue.


• Ever since, I’ve worked with both parties to improve health care, invest in schools, and create better-paying jobs -- and I’ve been consistently named one of the most effective and most independent members of Congress.

Unfortunately, Florida Republicans don’t want effectiveness or independence. They want someone who’ll toe the party line, even if it hurts Floridians.

Someone like Anthony Sabatini.

He’s a Trump ally who’s running to unseat me, and we know he’ll throw everything he can at us. It’s absolutely crucial we hit our upcoming end-of-quarter goal. If you can, please make a contribution to help me defend this seat.
