Friend,
Yesterday’s health care Town Hall was an amazing night for this campaign. Passionate Franklin County residents came together at the Arms Library in Shelburne Falls and shared stories with their community, and with our team.
Together, we tackled questions about a Medicare For All system that cares for people during a transition away from private health insurance; the scarcity of hospitals and primary care doctors in our rural communities; and how we can best address opioid addiction and treatment in MA-01.
We also heard some moving personal stories, reminding us that enormous change and action may be difficult to even imagine—because for so long we’ve been told to accept a system that profits off our illnesses, our emergencies, and our long term health struggles. We saw that together we have the vision, the political will, and the courage to do what’s needed to provide quality health care to everyone across this country. Everyone in, no one out.
Continuing to organize Town Halls like this across the 1st District will take resources. Chip in now to help us keep building the most transparent and people-focused campaign we possibly can—and If you haven’t already, jump in and take our three-question health care survey now.
Talk soon,
Alex
P.S. Tomorrow, I’ll be listening to the #MorseForce in Berkshire County at the UNO Community Center in North Adams, and then Monday, I’ll be in Hampden County at Gateway City Arts in Holyoke. Monday’s event at GCA will have ASL interpretation for deaf community members. There’s still so many new voices to spotlight and welcome into our grassroots movement. I hope I see you there.
