The path to holding onto our Democratic Majority in Congress runs through New York and this race in NY-01 is as competitive as they come.
Why?
For the first time in years, this is an open seat and NY Democrats won't compete against Lee Zeldin's corporate-backed campaign war chest. Even better, Kara Hahn was born and raised right here in NY-01 and has a proven record of uplifting Long Islanders throughout her career in the county legislature.
But we can't take these facts for granted. Right now, we must invest in a powerful grassroots campaign that can deliver the red-to-blue flip we need to defend our majority in the House.
What does a powerful grassroots campaign look like? It looks like dozens of organizers talking to voters every day.
It looks like campaign offices across the district, from Patchogue to Mattituck, so voters know we value their communities. And to get people into those offices, we'll need plenty of targeted digital advertisements and text campaigns to bring activists onboard. That all costs money, from the ads themselves to the organizers to the tools they use.
This is our best chance to flip NY-01 blue in nearly a decade, John. And with our Democratic majority hanging in the balance, we can't afford to waste it.
