The latest Virginia poll is out, and we have a lot of work to do.

People for the American Way

We need your help to stop the far-right takeover of battleground Virginia!

Dear People For Member,

Apologies for emailing again so soon after our last message ... but there’s some not-so-good news we wanted to share with you.

The latest poll of likely voters in Virginia has the far-right Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin up by five percentage points — a lead that is outside the poll’s margin of error! [1]

Youngkin: 48%

McAuliffe: 43%

People For is ready to meet the high stakes and competitiveness of this race with our biggest-ever electoral program in Virginia. But we’ll only be successful if our supporters like you can chip in and help fund this program.

So, we’re asking: please make a 3X-MATCHED donation right away to win Virginia and continue all the progress we’ve made >>

As a member of People For, you know what’s at stake — not just for Virginians but for the country.

  • Keeping Democrats in the governor’s office and the legislative majority means that we have a chance to make Virginia the final state needed to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
  • If far-right Republicans win the governorship and take over the House, they'll be further along in their efforts to gerrymander this critical bellwether state’s legislative districts.
  • Virginia is also one of our top target states to join the National Popular Vote Compact, which would effectively end the racist and anti-democratic Electoral College – but if the Far Right takes control of the state government, there’s zero chance of progress on that front.
  • Finally, what happens in Virginia in just a few short weeks here will set the national tone and determine who has momentum as we head into the 2022 midterms.

Early voting has already begun in Virginia. And the dire consequences of electing a Trump-endorsed, ultra-wealthy extremist –whose campaign playbook is built on lies, conspiracy theories, and appeals to racist hate and stereotyping – just cannot be overstated.

Thanks to a generous matching grant from one of our funders, all donations will be 3X-MATCHED by the end of the month — but we need to raise the full $150K to unlock the match!!!

So please chip in anything you can to help unlock the 3X MATCH and triple your impact in this critical election!

Thanks so much,
—Ben & The People For Team

Radical Right extremists are trying to turn back the clock on a century of advances in civil rights, women’s rights, workers’ rights, the social safety net and more… they’re waging an all-out assault on the fundamental pillars of our country – democracy, checks and balances, a fair and independent judicial branch, and core values like fairness, equality, and justice for all.

People For is fighting back every day with:

✔ Grassroots organizing
✔ Lobbying and advocacy
✔ Research and education
✔ Voter mobilization
✔ And more…

But we can’t do this vital work without the robust grassroots financial support of our members and activists.

Please help fund the fight for progress and stand against right-wing extremism with an urgently needed donation to People For today>>
