ELEPHANT EARS by Jeff Mosesso
Downtown Friday Night 9-24
Set up Downtown Friday table and chairs at 5 PM. Weather was good, there was a very refreshing breeze all evening and No rain in sight. Which was good as there was trouble with the pop-up tent and it did not get set up. It seemed like a lower turnout than last month. Many of the attendees stopping at the table were already registered voters so I only was able to get one party change voter registration. Fortunately, we had many ballot access petitions signed for our Rep. Erin Grall.
Lamarre, Joann Binford and John came by at 7 PM for ballot access petitions, lent a hand at the table and helped me load the truck just after 9 PM. Thanks gang.
Stopping by the table to say hello: Bill and Mia, Rick and Chris, Taylor and Taylor and Donald Baldwin. Apologies if I missed anyone.
Next Downtown Friday Night is October 29th, just before Halloween. Weather should be nice. Volunteers needed. Costumes anyone??
Sat & Sun 9-25 & 9-26 Gun Show
We had a table smack dab in the middle of the show so everyone attending had to pass by at some point. Volunteers working the table: Mike and Kelly Foster, Harry and Barbara Anne Oehler, Rick and Chris Allen and Donald Baldwin. Thanks all who came out and worked the tables with John Archibald and me. Very much appreciated.
Stopping by the table to say hello were Bill Griffin, Rene Boisvert and Jan Mooney. Again, apologies if I missed anyone.
We received five more voter registrations for a total of six for the 3-day weekend – 4 new and two-party changes. And many more ballot access petitions for Rep. Erin Grall. Folks were very willing to fill them out for her. A Thanks to Heather Barwick for bringing us more petitions Saturday after we ran out of our show stock.
Two show attendees wanted to volunteer to help Republican Party efforts so I took their contact info and forwarded same to Linda for follow ups.
Some noteworthy conversations from the Downtown event and the Shows:
A lady stopped by to register Republican after previously registering NPA four months earlier when she obtained her new FL driver license. She had moved to Vero Beach from Michigan and of course, I just had to ask why she moved. “She had to get away from Governor Whitmer.” I am sure we all know why, watching this Governor’s actions for the past several years.
The telling of her husband’s reaction and response to Cuomo’s statement made me laugh as it was representative of the stated feelings of long-time New Yorkers that we are seeing moving to Florida – “Cuomo, you can kiss my Tax Dollars and My (er, uh politely for the newsletter) ‘Rear End’ Goodbye!” And here they are, registered as Republicans. I have a strong feeling that these folks will not be voting to New York our Florida!
A man had moved from New Jersey a couple of years ago to Vero Beach. He was a school educator there for 30 years. I asked and, well …. “The Governor stinks! I did not want to remain in New Germany any longer.” Isn’t it interesting that the most colorful pejoratives, describing the notoriously Democrat states that many are fleeing, come from their previous residents?
Notable Patriotic T shirts seen at the Show:
“The 1st Amendment Defines Us, The 2nd Amendment Defends Us”.
“If The Government Says ‘You Don’t Need A Gun', Then You Do Need A Gun”.
We have seen the Left, time after time, misuse/abuse word meanings to suit their political agenda. Well, someone stole their thunder on the use of the word "Racist". It has now been correctly defined and put on a "T" shirt – “R.A.C.I.S.T. Republicans Against Communist Infested Socialist Takeovers.”
The somber message on this T shirt will ring with our Veterans in the REC, but it has implications for All of Us in the fight for our Rights and for the Republic – “In the Darkest Hour, When the Demons Come, Call on Me Brother, And We’ll Fight Them Together”! A good note for Party Unity I’d say.
And finally, I think we just developed a Winning Strategy for our REC efforts at the Gun Shows. Our table was located snugly between two firearms dealers with their many items displayed on the tables, close enough for us to reach up and touch. We were close enough also to ‘confuse’ some attendees looking for firearms, thinking that they were ours. Some shoppers asked, ‘Can you tell me about this firearm?’ while pointing to the item. I politely redirected them to the adjacent vendors and said “Well, if you want to Buy that firearm, see the man behind those tables.” And then quickly added “But if you want to Keep that firearm, see the folks behind this table.”
We’ll test our theory next gun show.
We were productive, had some laughs and lots of fun. Next Gun Show weekend is November 6-7, 2021. I'll put out a memo for volunteers if we get a green light to do the shows.
Best to All,

GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS
Governor Sticks to His Guns
Governor DeSantis SLAMMED Joe Biden this week for his administrations’ efforts to punish Florida and ultimately put lives at risk.
Joe Biden spent months incessantly attacked Governor DeSantis for promoting the life-saving monoclonal antibody treatments. Now, Joe Biden has done a 180 and has apparently changed his tune on monoclonal antibodies. So much so that Joe cut Florida’s monoclonal shipments BY MORE THAN 50% as a way to target Governor DeSantis because he refuses to bend the knee to their ridiculous edicts.
Seven states were affected by the HHS decision: Florida. Alabama, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia. Apparently, not politicizing the pandemic was only an empty campaign platitude for Joe.
The federal government purchased the entire supply of these treatments, and the Biden Administration is now “rationing” them in the name of “equity” – despite no shortage in our national supply.
But our governor is not to be outdone. He has announced that Florida has purchased 3000 doses of the Covid-19 antibody treatment from GlaxoSmithKline and VIR Biotechnology, Inc. Nevertheless, the state may still be forced to close some of the newly opened monoclonal antibody treatment centers.
Governor DeSantis says he will continue to fight against Biden’s quest for revenge and will find any means necessary to make sure no Floridian is deprived of the life-saving treatment they need. This treatment is bigger than politics.
State's Highest Honor Awarded to Felix Rodriguez
Last week, Governor DeSantis awarded the Governor’s Medal of Freedom to Felix Rodriguez. Mr. Rodriguez is only the second recipient of the highest honor in the state.
Throughout his life, Felix Rodriguez has fought for freedom and liberation. He was born in Cuba in 1941, but after his family’s possessions were seized by Fidel Castro’s tyrannical government, he dedicated his life to fighting for freedom and liberty.
Felix joined the famous Brigade 2506, which carried out the Bay of Pigs invasion, worked with CIA, and participated in the capture and execution of Marxist leader Che Guevara. Not only that, but after becoming a U.S. citizen he joined the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Felix’s firsthand knowledge of the pain and suffering caused by oppressive Communist dictatorships is reflected in his dedication to service. We know the horrors caused by these oppressive regimes and it takes men like Felix to remind us how important it is we rebuff those attempting to plunge us into those dangerous policies and systems here in America.
There is nobody who has demonstrated a greater commitment to liberating those most oppressed. As Democrats embrace Socialist policies like a warm hug, we should remember sacrifices those like Felix Rodriguez have made to eradicate that tyrannical ideology and continue to fight back in preservation of freedom here in America.
Thanks to Felix Rodriguez, countless individuals were able to experience the blessings of freedom, and Governor DeSantis was proud to recognize his heroism with the Governor’s Medal of Freedom.
ATTORNEY GENERAL ASHLEY MOODY
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has joined the U.S. Department of Justice and other states in an antitrust lawsuit that seeks to block a partnership between American Airlines and JetBlue.
The 42-page lawsuit, filed Tuesday in federal court in Massachusetts, targets a so-called “Northeast Alliance” in which the airlines would share revenues and coordinate flights at airports in Boston, New York, and Newark, N.J.
The lawsuit contends the partnership will eliminate competition between the airlines at those airports and reduce JetBlue’s incentives to compete with Americans in other areas of the country.
“The airline industry is a highly concentrated industry,” Moody said in a prepared statement Wednesday.
The challenged alliance between American and JetBlue will only increase that concentration and hurt Floridians and Florida’s interests. I am especially concerned with this alliance’s likely effect on smaller, more regional airports in Florida where these two airlines are, at least in one instance, the only two airlines flying routes.”
Other states taking part in the lawsuit are Arizona, California, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, along with the District of Columbia.

SENATORS: VOTE NO ON HR 4
The House Democrats have already passed HR 4 also known as the John Lewis Voting Rights Act after their failure to pass HR 1. HR 4 will give the federal government complete and total control over our elections. Not only does it give the U.S. Attorney General unfettered power to oversee and judge state and local elections across the nation, but it also forces state governments to receive permission from their U.S. District Court or the U.S. Attorney General to update or change their election laws and procedures. The next stop for the bill is the U.S. Senate and unless we help stop this bill from becoming law, the Democrats will establish permanent one-party control in Washington D.C. while eliminating our constitutional freedoms and radically changing our democracy.
BIDEN BOOTS LEGENDARY LEE GREENWOOD FROM NATIONAL COUNCIL OF THE ARTS
Conservative Americans are seething over President Joe Biden’s decision to remove singer Lee Greenwood from the National Council on the Arts and have vented their outrage on Twitter.
The singer, whose signature song “God Bless the U.S.A.” has been played at patriotic events ever since Greenwood penned the anthem in 1984, said he was surprised that he was ousted from the panel, having been first appointed by former President George W. Bush.
“So, hearing now under the Biden administration and he’s cleaned house and finally he’s fired a patriot. I was quite shocked to tell you the truth. I didn’t get a phone call or letter. It was just an email,” Greenwood said in a Fox & Friends interview Thursday.
Unity- Winning Depends On It
As we approach the 2022 mid-term elections and the 2024 presidential election, and in light of the abject failure of the Biden administration, we know that the very survival of our republic depends on the outcome of those elections. Therefore, we must stay unified. Never lose sight of who our political opponents are… the progressive left Democrats who are taking our country off a cliff with the active help of Big Tech and the old-line national news media. Our fellow Republicans are not the enemy!
