Friend,
I'm writing to you after wrapping up a strategy session with my team at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. With so many battleground races to prioritize – and Senate control sitting at a razor-thin 50-50 split – I wish the news was better. But it isn't. Ahead of our major FEC public reporting deadline, we're $13,721 short of our fundraising goal.
(I'm about to explain why this is so important, but if you can, donate $5 right now to make up this fundraising shortfall and protect our Senate majority.)

Here's what I can tell you from the meeting I just got out of: The national map is competitive. Having fought and run many tough campaigns of my own before, I haven't seen a campaign cycle quite like this: Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire – all blue states we must defend where the races are WAY too close for comfort.
There's no way of sugarcoating it, friend: If we don't have the resources to defend these seats – if Republicans flip just a single state – then Mitch McConnell is majority leader once again.
We need to kick our campaign to protect Senate control into high gear, and that means closing this fundraising gap to get back on track with our FEC goal. With Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans already sitting on $25 million in the bank to shell out against us, missing goals like this is simply not an option – not if we're to have any hope of competing, winning and defending our majority.
So please, as the senator who heads up our campaign to protect the majority, I'm personally asking you: Will you make a contribution of $5 or now to make up our fundraising shortfall? Every dollar you give ensures we have the resources to protect our Senate majority.

Thank you,
