Phonebank with us Wednesday night from 6:30pm-8pm! Every call makes a difference for state level candidates, and this year in Virginia is crucial. Democrats there have expanded Medicaid, declared Election Day a holiday, enacted gun control laws, banned the gay/trans panic defense, expanded voting rights, and more. But to keep up this good work, we need to keep the majority in the house - we've seen in Texas how easy it is to undo and backtrack against voting and reproductive rights, and we don't want to see that happen in VA!
By making calls on behalf of Briana Sewell you can help keep VA Blue! With early voting underway and just about a month til election day, we are ramping up GOTV efforts to make sure VA voters know where to vote - so phonebankers are more crucial than ever!
Why Phonebanking?
Phonebanking is our best remote volunteering option for voter contact. We identify supporters, find and speak with undecided voters, tidy campaign data for voter targeting, and recruit local volunteers. That's why we have been showing up virtually every Wednesday evening since June to help campaigns make calls!
What to Expect?
Each virtual phonebank over Zoom includes training for new phonebankers at 6:30pm (returning callers can jump right into making calls), and check-ins mid-way through and at the end. We'll share successes and address questions throughout via the chat box. Veteran phonebank leaders help you get comfortable, increase your effectiveness, and make sure you have a great experience. There's strength in numbers - last week our intrepid phonebankers made nearly 600 calls in about an hour! However many calls you can make, we and the campaigns appreciate you turning up to do the hard ?work that is the backbone of election organizing!
