Right now, more than 7 million people are at risk of being forced from their homes — in the midst of a pandemic.
That’s unacceptable, especially in the richest country in the world. But now that the nationwide eviction moratorium has expired, people across the country could be forced to choose between paying thousands of dollars in back-rent and mortgages, or losing their homes.
Everyone deserves a place to call home, so Ilhan and Senator Jeff Merkley have introduced the Affordable Housing Opportunities Made Equitable (HOME) Act. This bill will bring about bold solutions to address the affordable housing crisis — including major investments in public housing and rental assistance.
The pandemic only exacerbated the existing affordable housing crisis. If you agree that we need to urgently take on the affordable housing crisis, will you add your name to become a citizen co-sponsor of the Affordable HOME Act?
