Trump loyalist and Senator Marco Rubio just attacked Rep. Val Demings, criticizing her for fighting against the archaic filibuster. The Senate filibuster has been the largest roadblock to our defense against the GOP's crusades on voting rights across the country. Senate Republicans are attacking our freedom to vote and Demings is refusing to let them.
Demings is fighting back against GOP voter suppression, holding Senators accountable for their blatant inaction and their willingness to erase the voices of thousands of voters across the country. She'll put an end to Rubio and the GOP's attacks on our fundamental right to vote.
If Demings wins this race, we can protect those voices and pass legislation that a majority of this country believes in. But if Demings loses, Rubio will spend another six years in the Senate eroding our democracy to protect his own power.
Democratic donors have been hesitant to get involved in this race early, but we know that more money now could determine the outcome of the election. We are doing everything we can to elect Val Demings, but we are $850 short of our daily fundraising goal. If we fall short, we'll be forced to scale back our efforts in Florida -- which means Rubio wins again.
