John -- did you catch Laura's important email about our September end-of-month fundraising goal? We need to raise $25,000 by midnight on the 30th to ensure we have the resources to re-elect Laura in 2022.
From: Laura Kelly Date: September 25, 2021 Subject: I need to explain something to you
John,
All of the progress we've made so far -- a fully funded public education system, an economy on the mend, and expanding broadband -- could be under attack if we let our extreme Republican opponent win in 2022. That's why it's so important that we hit our $25,000 September end-of-month fundraising goal before Thursday's deadline.
The money we raise helps us expand our digital program, grow our campaign team, fight back against Republican attacks, and so much more. And when we fall short, we have to think about making cuts -- and thinking about that this early in the cycle is a bad sign. We can't risk falling behind.
Early investments are crucial when planning any campaign -- and it's especially true when you're running in a race that Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight, Inside Elections, The Kansas City Star, and Cook Political Report are all calling one of the most likely Democratic governor seats to flip in 2022.
There's simply too much at stake in 2022. Falling behind early on is not an option -- especially with our extreme right-wing opponent and his special interest allies gearing up to spend whatever it takes to defeat me.
Laura Kelly is one of the most vulnerable incumbent Democrats up for re-election in 2022. Extreme Republicans will do and spend whatever it takes to defeat Laura, so we're fighting back. Chip in our average online contribution of $27 to help us stay on track to win.
