Friends,

September 30th marks the end of the quarter, which means that our public fundraising deadline is nearly here. I’m going to ask you to chip in and help my team reach our ambitious goal of $50,000 for the quarter [[link removed]] -- but first, I wanted to talk to you a bit about why fighting for progress in Alabama is personal for me.

As you may know, I am a proud product of Alabama’s Black Belt. I’m a third generation Selma native -- my grandfather was a hard-working sharecropper, my father was a math teacher, and my mother was a librarian and the first Black woman elected to the Selma City Council.

As the first Black woman to represent AL-07 and one of the first women to ever represent Alabama in federal office, I feel incredibly humbled and honored to represent this great state in Congress.

Every day I fight for the people of Alabama’s 7th District by advocating for critical issues like expanding access to the ballot box, strengthening our infrastructure, advocating for our public schools, and ensuring access to quality health care for everyone.

And I’ll continue to fight -- even if I’m up against the GOP dark money machine.

If my Alabama upbringing taught me anything, it’s that with hard work, perseverance, and faith you can truly move mountains.

We cannot let up in our efforts to create positive, lasting change. I was lucky to be able to follow in the footsteps of the great Alabamians who came before me, and now, we must all do our part to pave the path that will allow the next generation to further our fight.

That’s why I’m calling on this team. With your help, we can keep Alabama’s 7th District safe from National Republican spending and keep fighting for a better future.

We have just 4 days until our public FEC fundraising deadline, and I hope you can pitch in so our team has all the resources we need to keep fighting for the people of Alabama. Can I count on you to chip in $25, or any amount you can, today? → [[link removed]]
