According to the Guardian, Republicans -- who have complete control of state government in Texas -- have pushed through some of the most extreme rightwing measures in the country. And they don’t have plans to appeal to a broader voting electorate anytime soon.

The Guardian coverage drew a direct line from:
→ Republicans having “complete control” of the Texas redistricting process ten years ago…
→ to their ability to “distort the lines” and “guarantee” electoral wins...
→ and then having “power that allows Republicans to make laws without having to worry about alienating Democratic voters.”

Right now, Republicans in Texas are redrawing their legislative and congressional maps -- and already showing signs of using gerrymandering to lock in another decade of unfair power.

Will you make a donation to help us prevent map manipulators from using the redistricting process to entrench themselves in power without accountability from voters.

Extreme politicians in Texas can enact “the most restrictive abortion law in the United States” and pass “new election restrictions" without having to answer to a majority of voters because of gerrymandering.

Redistricting provides us with a window of opportunity to ensure voters can hold politicians in Texas, Georgia, and across the country accountable when they go against the will of the people.

If we’ve learned anything over the past few months, it’s that democracy isn’t inevitable -- we must continually work for it. Can we count on you to make a donation right now to All On The Line? It will help us stop far-right extremism this year by ending gerrymandering.
