** Wide divergence across Europe in attitudes toward Muslims ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
In some countries, including the UK (78%), large majorities express favorable views toward Muslims. In others, such as Hungary (11%), far fewer do. But in both of these countries, as well as several others, the shares expressing unfavorable opinions toward Muslims have decreased since the question was last asked in 2016, when millions of refugees from the Middle East and North Africa arrived in Europe. A new Pew Research Center survey ([link removed]) also measures views toward other minority groups in the region, finding that attitudes toward Jews are broadly positive in the 16 European countries surveyed.
