When it comes to tackling the climate crisis, incremental change no longer cuts it. We simply don’t have the time to just make one-off investor and corporate commitments or pass state-by-state policy changes.
To truly Get US There—to a just and sustainable future—we have to accelerate our work. Capital markets themselves must change.
Building on our 30 years of leadership and impact, the Ceres Accelerator aims to transform the practices and policies that govern capital markets in order to accelerate action on reducing the worst impacts of the climate crisis and other sustainability threats.
We will ramp up our efforts to move capital market influencers, such as financial regulators and asset owners, to recognize climate change as the systemic financial risk that it is—and to act on it.
The stability of our financial system is at stake.
I would like to personally thank our Ceres Board Chair, Barney Schauble, and his wife Temple, for their generous gift to launch this new center.
