By now you’ve probably heard about the vile abortion law that passed in Texas a few weeks ago, which bans almost all abortions after six weeks of pregnancy -- when most people don’t even know that they’re pregnant.

Congress must act in response to these urgent attacks on abortion access. That’s why I was proud to vote and be a co-sponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act -- a bill to codify Roe v. Wade.

I will always stand up for a woman’s right to make their own reproductive decisions. But I need to hit all of my fundraising goals to stay in office fighting anti-choice agendas -- so I need your help to reach my critical FEC goal.

Let me be clear, friend: Decisions regarding a woman and her body should be made between the patient and their doctor -- not politicians. That’s why the House isn’t going to wait for a Supreme Court decision that will gut Roe v. Wade. We’re taking action to protect reproductive rights now.

To all of the women in Michigan and across the country who are feeling hopeless and scared, I want you to know that I hear you. Let me assure you that I’m working day in and day out to eradicate your fears.

But if I’m going to continue fighting for women’s health protections -- and the families of Michigan -- I will need your help.
