John —
The next WFP Assembly is this Sunday, October 27th, and we have something exciting in store for you.
Joining us on our monthly video call is none other than Maggie Toulouse Oliver, who is running an unabashedly progressive campaign for U.S. Senate in New Mexico against an establishment-picked Democrat.
Maggie will talk about her historic campaign to become the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate from New Mexico, and why we don’t need to settle for a corporate Democrat when we can elect a true progressive who will fight for our values. We’ll also discuss the stakes of taking back the U.S. Senate in 2020 and why any strategy to enact a Green New Deal and Medicare for All needs to include unseating Mitch McConnell as the Senate majority leader.
Can you RSVP for the WFP Assembly this Sunday, October 27th at 8pm/5pm PT? All you need to join the virtual gathering is your phone or computer.

This month’s assembly won’t just be about 2020 either. In addition to Maggie, we’ll hear from Chelsea Chism-Vargas and Rachel Junck, two WFP endorsed candidates running for city council in Iowa, whose election is less than two weeks away!
Chelsea is a 27-year old Latinx woman challenging an entrenched incumbent who has failed to address the needs of Des Moines’ 4th Ward for far too long. And Rachel is a student at Iowa State University who is running for city council because she knows her generation cannot wait for action on climate change.
All three candidates joining us this Sunday are running trailblazing people-powered campaigns — and we can’t wait to share with you how to get involved!
So join us at our monthly WFP Assembly video meeting this Sunday, October 27th at 8pm ET, and together we can build community and share how you can plug in to these progressive campaigns.
Hope to see you there,
Team WFP
