Team --
Here's an update with some photos of where we've been this past month. You may even see some faces you recognize! Please read it, then consider
chipping in $3 to our end-of-month deadline.
September has been a challenging month. Kids are going back to school during the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic, and there's increased political division on the state and federal level.
I'm sure you're feeling worn out, too. But there's too much important work to be done to wait around for someone who is supposed to lead -- to actually show some real Iowa leadership. I'm not expecting anyone to give us permission to step up. We don't need it.
Right now what we need more than ever before is to come together for a better future for all Iowans.
That's why meeting with Iowans across the state gives me hope and it's what I know you'll see in the pictures below. And if I haven't already, I hope I get the opportunity to see you in person soon.
More soon,
Ras Smith
Democrat for Governor
I visited with Clinton County Democrats, and was joined by my friend Rep. Mary Wolfe.
The Polk County Democrats' Steak Fry is always the place to be. Thanks to all who made the trip to support.
I had the chance to stop by the new Dupaco Voices Building in Dubuque and took a brief moment from the campaign trail to enjoy the beautiful Iowa sky.
A quick interview in Perry turned into an hour-long roundtable about courage, being "Bold about the Basics," and building an Iowa that works for everyone. I love this state!
I was proud to get out and knock doors for Andrea Phillips. Unfortunately she lost her special election, but I applaud her and her campaign for the tough fight.
And I had a moment to try some homemade strawberry rhubarb pie.
