Hey Team —

Yesterday, the House passed the Women’s Health Protection Act.

This bill is in direct response to S.B. 8 in Texas which bans abortions after six weeks, or before most people even know that they’re pregnant.

This is a critical step to protecting Roe v. Wade for years to come, and it was only possible because of the Democratic House majority.

Speaker Pelosi has called S.B. 8 a “catastrophe to women in Texas, particularly women of color and women from low-income communities.” In passing the Women’s Health Protection Act, the Democratic House is taking direct action to protect abortion access for all pregnant people as a matter of social, economic, and health equity.

Here’s the thing, team : not a single Republican voted to advance this bill.

The passage of this bill through the House is a huge win for choice, and it was only possible because of our Democratic majority. Will you make a contribution to our fight to protect the House so we can protect this progress? [[link removed]]

Not only does this bill protect people seeking abortion care, it also provides protections for the professionals who provide this care. This bill is an important counter to the punitive provisions of S.B. 8, designed to punish health care professionals for simply doing their jobs. This is the progress we can continue to achieve if we do everything in our power to protect our majority. Will you rush a contribution today to show your support for this bill and our Democratic House? [[link removed]] In solidarity,
