Dear Mr. xxxxxx:
Congress is back in session, and with that I want to give you an update on what’s happening in Washington. This is going to be a busy couple of weeks as we confront the consequences of Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal, the left’s attack on the unborn, and a sweeping vaccine mandate.
Disastrous Withdrawal from Afghanistan
Last month we saw President Biden’s withdrawal from America’s longest war result in leaving thousands of Americans and allies behind. His handling of the withdrawal was a complete and utter failure, and its one that will be a black eye in our nation’s history books. I sent out a survey asking if you thought the President was doing a good job with the Afghanistan crisis, and the resounding answer was No.
The Taliban’s seizure leading up to the President’s August 31st withdrawal deadline demanded that Congress help those stuck and in harms way. I am proud to have worked, and to continue to work with the State Department in making sure our friends, families, and allies make it safely out of Afghanistan.
Abortion on Demand
This week, Democrats are pushing H.R. 3755, which if passed would allow for abortions up until birth across the board. It would also abolish nearly all past, present, and future pro-life state laws; laws requiring parental involvement in a minor’s abortion; and laws preventing dismemberment abortions.
This is an unacceptable proposal that disregards every unborn baby’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. An example of how radical this is; not even liberal European countries allow abortion up until birth. I will continue to work in the fight for the unborn and stand strong against Democrats and the atrocities they are trying to allow.
Get Vaccinated, or else…
We’ve also seen President Biden exert unconstitutional executive power with his vaccine mandate for businesses across the country. According to his mandate, any business with 100 or more employees will be required to see to it that all employees are vaccinated and will be enforced through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
While I encourage people to get the vaccine just as I have, I believe that it is the federal government’s role to do only that; encourage it. The President’s mandate is an overreach of his Constitutional power, and I hope to see it challenged in the courts as we fight to maintain our individual freedoms.
Capitol Journal I talked about many of the topics in this months newsletter recently on APT's Capitol Journal. My segment of the program can be watched here.
May God bless you and your loved ones.
Sincerely,
Robert Aderholt
