Biden Border Crisis Continues
On Thursday, Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson joined Dagen McDowelll and Jason Chaffetz on Fox Business Tonight to discuss the Biden administration’s failure to protect America and secure our borders.
"The second the Biden-Harris Administration revoked Trump's very successful remain in Mexico policy, they created this crisis," Jessica Anderson said. "Now Biden is taking their resources and defunding CBP. That is out of touch with the American people, it is not keeping America safe, and it is putting us last when it comes to our security in this country."

Dem’s Debt Limit Disaster
On Tuesday, the House voted 220-211 on party lines to pass a Continuing Resolution (CR) that would temporarily fund the government through December 3, 2021 with an attached provision to suspend the debt limit until December 2022.

It’s two separate issues with two separate deadlines that Democrats are trying to tie together in one vote:



- Sept 30 is the deadline to work out a deal on funding the government (with a Continuing Resolution or CR), with the prospect of a government shutdown on October 1. 

- Mid-October is the deadline to work out a deal on the debt limit.



Let’s be clear—suspending the debt limit WITHOUT reforms is giving the Democrats a blank check to borrow an unlimited amount to pay for their far-Left agenda. Here are the reforms needed <[link removed]>, that Democrats are NOT offering.
The Senate is expected to now vote on the CR & debt limit suspension on Monday, where it would need Republican support to pass.

Republicans should NOT take the bait. Suspending the debt ceiling effectively gives Democrats a blank check to enact their radical agenda––namely their $5+ TRILLION DOLLARS in proposed taxing, borrowing, and spending.

As for the looming government shutdown set to start October 1, Democrats will likely look to pass a separate CR without the debt limit suspension attachment. This will temporarily fund the government. They could’ve done this all along, but they instead held the government funding hostage in exchange for trying to trick Republicans into voting for a blank check via a debt limit suspension.
Trillions in Taxing, Borrowing, and Spending
Negotiations continue on the Democrats’ proposed $5+ TRILLION DOLLARS in new spending via two main bills. Weeks ago, Pelosi promised so-called ‘moderate’ Democrats a vote on the Senate-passed $1.2 trillion infrastructure package by Sept. 27, which is this Monday.

However, progressives like AOC and the squad have given Pelosi problems—they’re threatening to sink the $1.2 trillion bill unless they are guaranteed a vote on a $3+ trillion reconciliation bill too.

Monday could be a very interesting day.

According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) <[link removed]>, this bill is not paid for and will add more than $250 BILLION to the national debt. Even worse, just one-tenth of the bill’s total spending is for roads and bridges.

Adding to the disaster that is the infrastructure bill, this legislation is tied to the Dem’s reckless $3.5 TRILLION DOLLAR reconciliation bill. So-called ‘moderates’ in the House have demanded a vote on infrastructure before reconciliation, while the far-Left socialists in the party have demanded a vote on reconciliation before infrastructure.

It’s a real political quagmire for Nancy Pelosi, and we shouldn’t make it easier for her to transform America forever into their socialist dystopia.

Remember –– a vote for the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill is also a vote for the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill!
House Passes “Abortion For All Act”
On Friday, the House voted 218-211 for the Women’s Health Protection Act (H.R. 3755), or better described as the “Abortion for All Act.” All Republicans voted against this egregious bill, with all Democrats voting in favor (with the exception of one Texas Member).

This bill is the most radical, pro-abortion legislation to pass a chamber of Congress in decades––potentially ever.

The Left would do well to remember that 3 in 4 Americans <[link removed]> support significantly limiting abortion, and the vast majority do not believe that medical professionals should be forced to participate in abortions or want their tax dollars to fund abortions.
Crucial Weeks Ahead
The next few weeks on Capitol Hill will be very busy. Next week, Nancy Pelosi must decide whether she’ll put the $1.2 trillion infrastructure package on the House floor. In addition, negotiations continue on the Dems’ reckless $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.

Heritage Action will be working overtime to make sure these two bills do not make it to President Biden’s desk. The infrastructure bill is bad, and the reconciliation bill is even worse. Both tax, borrow, and spend an unfathomable amount of money.

The final reconciliation bill hasn’t been written, but it will contain almost the entirety of the Democrats’ far-Left, progressive agenda. Here’s a comprehensive list we’ve compiled <[link removed]>.
