This is BAD, folks. The National Republican Redistricting Trust, which already counted Scott Walker as a top fundraiser, has now brought on three powerful GOP officials to help Republicans across the country gerrymander.
This is the same organization that told the Washington Post Republicans could pick up 20 to 30 reliable seats in the House of Representatives through map manipulation!
Mike Pompeo, Donald Trump's corrupt secretary of state, had the nerve to claim on Fox News that the NRRT "will level the competitive playing field to give the American people a shot at fair maps."
THAT IS GRADE-A BALONEY. Are the maps Republicans just forced through in Ohio "fair" -- that ones that would give them supermajorities in the legislature? What about the maps the Texas GOP just proposed, which don't include a single competitive district?
The reality is that with these three heavy hitters raising money for Republican redistricting efforts, the challenge ahead of us -- securing maps that are ACTUALLY fair and competitive -- is even greater.
