I was so dismayed to see S.B. 8 enacted in Texas. This radical and dangerous new law effectively bans abortions before most women know they are pregnant. It has no exceptions for rape or incest. And it sets up perverse vigilante incentives for Americans to report on and sue one another.

Today, House Democrats took action to reverse the Texas law and protect the freedom to choose by passing the Women’s Health Protection Act, which was introduced by my friend and fellow Californian Congresswoman Judy Chu.
