This week, the White House cited Data for Progress polling making the case for the popularity of President Biden’s Build Back Better plan. The internal messaging plan, designed for by White House communications director Kate Bedingfield for House Democrats, cited our polling of voters in the 12 key states of Arizona ([link removed]) , Colorado ([link removed]) , Georgia ([link removed]) , Michigan ([link removed]) , Montana ([link removed]) , New Hampshire ([link removed]) , North Carolina ([link removed]) , Oregon ([link removed]) , Pennsylvania ([link removed]) , Washington ([link removed]) , West Virginia
([link removed]) , and Wisconsin ([link removed]) .

Data for Progress found that 60% of likely voters, including 62% of Independents, support taxing corporations and the highest-income households to pay for the plan. Other polling found that this pay-for method actually increased support for the Build Back Better plan overall. In direct response to these results, the White House advised House Democrats ([link removed]) to promote the plan by emphasizing that it would be paid for by taxing corporations and the wealthy, as well as by strengthening the IRS to crack down on tax evasion by the rich.

Voters Support Investments in Care Infrastructure for People and the Planet
We already knew that the Civilian Climate Corps was a popular proposal. Our latest polling ([link removed]) finds that voters agree both care and environmental jobs should be secured in the CCC — and that voters consider “green jobs” to be any kind of work dedicated to the well-being of people and the planet. But that’s not all — we also find that voters strongly support a $700 billion plan put forth by President Biden to invest in care infrastructure and create millions of care jobs.

Voters Approve of PRO Act Legislation and Support a Second Attempt at Unionization by the Amazon Warehouse Workers in Bessemer, Alabama
Amazon workers in Bessemer, Alabama attempted to form a union in April of this year — an attempt that ultimately failed. But this shouldn’t discourage organizers and policymakers as new polling ([link removed]) finds voters nationwide support a second attempt at unionization for the Amazon workers of Bessemer. What’s more, we also find a majority support the PRO Act, a landmark piece of legislation that would strengthen labor laws and empower unions altogether.

Nevada Voters Widely Support Conserving and Protecting U.S. Public Lands
In President Biden’s first week in office, he issued anexecutive order ([link removed]) to conserve 30 percent of America’s public lands and waters by 2030. Our new survey ([link removed]) finds that voters in the key battleground state of Nevada strongly support this measure and other key conservation efforts.
