We are sending you this special message on behalf of our friends at Team Rubicon, who are working day and night to help resettle Afghan refugees and could use your help and support.
John,

Scott and I have been deeply troubled as we learned of the disaster in Afghanistan. It is painful to watch and read the news.

When he was Governor, Scott visited Kabul and the Bagram Airfield to see the troops before Christmas. The images of the Taliban rushing in to take over the country while American citizens, allies, and those who worked with our military were trying to get out hit home.

It is horrible how the Biden Administration messed up. Thousands have fled the abuse of the Taliban. Many of them are right here in Wisconsin at Fort McCoy. Most of them came here with little more than their clothes when they got on a plane.

Without a doubt, Scott has raised concerns about the vetting process. But, of course, we all want to be sure that we know who is here and that they are legitimate refugees.

We also know that so many of the people who fled Afghanistan were fearful of persecution. Many of them because they assisted our military personnel and others because they are Christians. They need our help. We want to tell you about one organization that is leading efforts to provide relief to them.

Team Rubicon is a veteran-led nonprofit organization that utilizes the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to deploy emergency response teams rapidly. Founded in 2010, Team Rubicon has deployed across the United States and worldwide to provide immediate relief to those impacted by disasters and humanitarian crises.

Team Rubicon has the highest scores on Charity Navigator (5 out of 5 stars) and Charity Navigator (A rating). In addition to helping at Fort McCoy, they prioritize needs in locations dictated by the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense. Their humanitarian and disaster response work is 100% fueled by donations and carried out by veteran-led teams of volunteers.

If you'd like to join us in helping our Afghan allies, you can make a financial donation to Team Rubicon here.

If you'd like to donate items, see the list here.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this vital work. We wish the Biden Administration had done better planning before they pulled our troops out of Afghanistan.

So many of these people were there for our troops when they needed help and support. They need our help.

I appreciate your consideration. May God bless our men and women in uniform, and may God continue to bless America.
