Friend,
The impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump is "frivolous."
Donald Trump's call to get Ukraine to dig up dirt on a political
opponent was totally "appropriate."
That's according to the propaganda running on Sinclair Broadcasting's
193 local TV stations across the country.
Sinclair Broadcasting is the largest TV operator in the country—beaming
their pro-Trump propaganda into 40% of American households.
They force the local news stations they own to air "must-run" segments
featuring former Trump staffer Boris Epshteyn up to nine times each
week. They gave disgraced former Fox News host Eric Bolling his own
show—where he interviews Trump supporters and campaign officials and
repeats White House talking points.
Let's not sugarcoat it: Sinclair Broadcasting is a direct threat to
democracy, spewing "alternative facts" and Trump propaganda into
millions of American living rooms every day.
But nonprofit, progressive journalism is alive and well at Common
Dreams. Every day, we dig into the real stories that matter to you, and
we report the facts. We're not trying to profit off reporting the news,
we're not beholden to investors or shareholders, and we don't take money
from corporate advertisers. But to make it work, we need your support.
Without ad revenue and deep corporate pockets, Common Dreams can only
keep going if readers like you support our work. Our Fall Campaign is
now underway, but we need everyone on board if we hope to reach our
must-hit goal.
Democracy depends on non-profit, independent media like Common Dreams.
Will you chip in to help us meet our goal of $50,000 by the end of
October to help fund this crucial work?
